- The "Assistant d'anglais" is an exchange program operated by the French government, offering American students of French the opportunity to spend a year in France, as a paid assistant to an English language teacher in a school.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens or hold a U.S. Green Card and under the age of 30. They must currently be students at Rutgers, have knowledge of French, and have English as a primary language. (These are the requirements of the French granting agency, not the department.)
