Join us for a critical exploration of Frantz Fanon’s Négritude, shaped by Aimé Césaire’s influence. This talk will examine Césaire’s Cahier d’un retour au pays natal to ground the poetic vision that inspired Fanon’s Black Skin, White Masks and the lesser-known play, Parallel Hands. Through a contemporary reading and poetic translation of Fanon’s prose, this presentation reveals a shared poetic project and a common vision of Négritude, rooted in personal, historical, and lived experiences.
*Lunch will be served before the talk at 11:30am (Murray 302)
