Prof. Arnaud Rykner is an École Normale Supérieure alumnus, a professor at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris 3) as well as a French novelist, playwright, stage director, and essayist. He is a specialist of “nouveau roman,” Nathalie Sarraute, and Marguerite Duras. He has published numerous major scholarly works on literature and theater (José Corti; Éditions du Seuil). He has also directed stage productions of works by Nathalie Sarraute, Dominique Hubin, Maurice Maeterlinck and Bernard-Marie Koltès.
